@BrookeM Our rv is a small 30ft travel trailer but the shankI had was not long enough for the rv to be a little lower in the front for travel My truck is a Chevrolet 2500 4x4 so it’s a little tall The longer shank worked out perfectly for a good and safe ride Thank You

Etrailer.com provided the product I needed at a fair price with free shipping. The product was a 9” hitch shank which gave me an increase in drop. The shank was heavy so the cost of shipping was important. Etrailer provided excellent communication with timely shipping that actually arrived a day early from original estimation. Thank you Etrailer. I appreciate you product and especially your service.

etrailer was excellent with their customer service, as always. With this order I had bought a Blue OX kit with a shank that was almost 15" long. Although my truck is lifted, it still scraped in the mountains and on my sidewalk. After calling etrailer I explained that I wanted to trade out the shank. Karen tried and tried but ultimately found that I was unable to do that as the Blue Ox kit I bought is a true kit and that the shank is not exchangeable. So, I had to buy a shorter (9" x 9 hole shank) shank, Karen was very receptive of my incurred costs. She spoke to her manager and got me a slight discount to help with the unintended purchase. Plus, the new shank was here in two days. All in all, etrailer is one of the best I have dealt with. To date I have bought a roof rack, trailer hitch rack, Swagman bike hitch rack, Weigh Safe hitch, and a Weight Distribution/Sway Control hitch from them. I will keep coming back because they are that helpful and their prices are awesome!

by:

blue ox made a great product, I had to purchase a longer shank to level out my tow trailer, also had to CRANK up the tension on the chains and springs though the first ride out was scary

by:

Product was as described. etrailer as always has excellent communications and delivery. I could not find a better price or customer service.

Great. No check ncerns or complaints.

Exactually what you would expect of a Blue Ox product: sturdy, super heavy, and exceptional craftsmanship. ETrailer is recommended by fellow RVers for their product selection & quality service. They delivered for me: quick shipping and secure packaging.

by:

Fast turnaround, thank you.

by:

Exactly what I needed

by:

I traded trucks, the new Power Wagon with air bags set a little too high using my original. This one was perfect using the bottom holes.

Shipping was quick, overall very happy.

by:

Wrong product was shipped in the right box (from manufacturer). Etrailers was great in correcting the problem and I had the right product in 3 days. Very prompt and good pricing and service.

by:

E/trailer is wonderful to work with, the reason I did not give 5 stars is I have not got to pull my trailer with it yet. I have measured and it seems to be just where I want the height of ball.

by:

As a lot of people experience with Blue OX is the ball mount is too short for propper fit and operation this fixes the issue.

by:

Heavy but perfect for my Blue Ox hitch and my 2500 Ram.

by:

Built like a tank!
Looks like great
build quality and finish.
Can't wait to put it to the test.
Phenomenal customer service!!!

by:

Arrived when stated, packaging was perfect, item was high quality, actual blue ox product. Fit just like my previous one.

  • Heavy Duty Tow Hitch Recommendation for a 2008 Ford F-350
Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15810 which is a fit for your 2008 Ford F-350 will allow you to tow your 2000 Holiday Rambler Aluma Lite 30SKS without the use of a weight distribution system assuming the figures you provided on the trailer are correct. This hitch has a 20,000 lbs gross trailer weight (GTW) and 2,700 lb tongue weight (TW) rating with a 2-1/2" receiver tube opening. According to the instructions for this hitch, the professional installation time is 30 minutes...

  • Replacement 2" Shank for 20K Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control
Hey Jim, thanks for reaching out! We do have a 2" shank that fits with the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BXW2000 as part # BXW4002 on our site. You'll be able to use the rest of the weight distribution system with this in place of your 2-1/2" shank, but this does have a lower weight rating at 15,000 lbs so you'll be limited to that when using this shank. What type of trailer are you planning on towing behind your motorhome?

  • Replacement Weight Distribution Shank for Use with Blue Ox Sway Pro
You can use a weight distribution shank from another manufacturer with your Blue Ox Sway Pro system if necessary to provide the correct coupling height and sufficient ground clearance. Based on your measurements it appears you actually need about 6-inches of drop in the shank. (We do our measurements a bit differently). Reese shank # RP3215 provides up to 5-3/4-inches of drop with trunnion bars. Dimensions of this item are shown in the linked photo.

  • 9 Hole Shank For A Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution System
Hi Jeff! We definitely have options for you! The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2" Hitches - 12" Long - 9 Hole Adjustment # BXW4003 you found will actually fit your Blue Ox 2-Point system perfectly fine. I know it says SwayPro, but both the SwayPro and 2-Point follow the industry standard spacing for shank size. If you weren't needing one quite that long though, the 9" Long - 9 Hole Adjustment # BXW4002 is a bit less expensive at the moment and will also work just fine. What...

For a 7 hole option you will want the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2" Hitches item # BXW4000. This shank has a total height of 10" and a total vertical adjustment of 8-3/4". • Advantage of Blue Ox Weight Distribution Shank with Longer Shank
The longer 12 inch shank on the Blu Ox # BXW4003 is just going to push the trailer a few inches further back from the rear of your truck. Adding clearance between the truck and trailer connection can be beneficial to allow space for an accessory you might have mounted in between or to be able to lower the tailgate on the truck with the trailer still connected (if this provides enough space to do on your particular setup). Other than that there's no advantage in terms of strength or performance...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution Shank For A 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch
When it comes to switching out your Reese distribution shank to a bigger one I would recommend going to The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2 inch Hitch - 9 inch Long - 9 Hole Adjustment # BXW4028. It is very similar to The Blue Ox Shank # BXW4002 but with it being a 2-1/2 inch hitch for safety reasons I would stick with the 2-1/2 inch shank. Using the 2-1/2 inch to 2 inch sleeve will give the system an extra breaking point which could effect the ride. The # BXW4028...

  • What is the Maximum Drop on the Blue Ox 7 Hole Shank
I spoke to Blue Ox and the TrackPro Weight Distribution System # BLU27FR offers a maximum 2 inches of drop or 8 inches of rise if needed. That is going from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform. This is standard for their 7 hole shanks that come with this part. If more drop is needed, however, we do have a couple other options available for the shanks. The Blue Ox Shank # BXW4002 will give you 4 1/2 inches of drop and 10 1/2 inches of rise. The only difference between the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System part # BXW1500 and the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System part BXW1500-S (which we don't carry) is the shank that is included with either system. The standard system (BXW1500) comes with the Weight Distribution Shank part # BXW4000 which offers up to 2" of drop whereas the extended system (BXW1500-S) comes with the Weight Distribution Shank part # BXW4002 which offers up to 4-1/2" of drop. • Troubleshooting Severe Suspension Sag With Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System Installed
I would be happy to help. It sounds like your Blue Ox SwapPro Weight Distribution System # BXW1000 may not be set up correctly causing it not to distribute weight properly. • Is 2" Difference in Trailer Coupler Height Okay for Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution
Thanks for reaching out! The biggest difference between hitch receiver height and trailer coupler height is 1", so for your application I do recommend using the 9-hole shank # BXW4002 so you can get to that level setup. Keeping the trailer level is the best way to get the best tracking and towing performance from your trailer which is why I recommend going this route instead of being a little nose-high for your trailer tongue. Attached is a review video for you to check out.

  • Recommended Way To Extend Weight Distribution Hitch So That Tailgate Clears Trailer Tongue Jack
I recommend swapping out the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank # BXW4002 for a Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600. The Equal-i-zer shank is 5" longer giving you enough to clear your tailgate. With using with a weight distribution hitch the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers # 325-GH-513 would create another point where there is going to be play in the receiver tube. While this will extend your hitch out it is not the route I would recommend going.

  • Can you Use the Brophy Hitch Extender to Tow a Travel Trailer
It looks like the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender, part # HR26, could work for your application based on the numbers. However, this isn't something I recommend for you since the addition of an extender not only reduces your towing capacity, it also adds more sway than you want with a 30-ft. trailer. Instead, it would be better to increase the length of your weight distribution's shank (or the length of your ball coupler if your WD hitch attaches with a coupler). A good one is the Blue...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Sway With Blue Ox Weight Distribution Installed
Thanks for reaching out! From what you're telling me it sounds like your weight distribution shank isn't long enough for you to tow your trailer level. Towing an unlevel trailer will no doubt cause the sway that you're experiencing so to remedy this we need to use a longer weight distribution shank. I understand your concerns and I'll be happy to help you. You have a lot of truck and not much camper. From what I can find it looks like a 16' Airstream trailer tops out around 3,500 lbs. The Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount item # 325-GH-1324 you were looking at will do a great job of absorbing road shock and bounce but it will not address sway in any way. Since you're worried about sway, I recommend adding a weight distribution system to your set up. This would keep your trailer in line...

If you're looking for a weight distribution shank that will be able to make up for the height difference between your 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and your trailer, then the most important factor is the drop length of the shank. To determine how much of a drop you need, you have to measure how high your vehicle's hitch and your trailer's coupler are from the ground. Measure to the inside top of the receiver tube on your truck and to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer. The difference...
